Tsinghua University is one of the founding institutions of the discipline of Marxist Theory in China and is authorized to confer bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in this first-level discipline. In 2007, it established a postdoctoral research station in the first-level discipline of Marxist Theory, further strengthening its talent training system and academic influence. In 2022, it was approved to launch a first-level discipline doctoral program in the History and Party Building of the Communist Party of China, marking a new stage in the development of related disciplines. As one of the first nationally designated key schools of Marxism, the School of Marxism at Tsinghua University has achieved outstanding results in the teaching and research of Marxist Theory.

Building on this solid disciplinary foundation, the School has built a comprehensive range of high-level academic research platforms, including the Tsinghua University Research Institute of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the Center for Research on Moral Education in Higher Education Institutions, the Research Institute for the History and Development of the Communist Party of China, the Collaborative Innovation Center for Core Socialist Values, and the Beijing Collaborative Innovation Center for Research on the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in Higher Education Institutions. Leveraging these platforms, the School actively promotes theoretical innovation and practical exploration, and maintains extensive exchanges and cooperation with world-renowned universities, working together to advance research and education in Marxist Theory on a global scale.
