The Teaching Group for Introduction to Basic Principles of Marxism (referred to as the Principles Group) at Tsinghua University's School of Marxism was established in 2005. Formed in response to the Ministry of Education's curriculum reform requirements for ideological and political theory courses, it evolved from the former Principles of Marxist Philosophy teaching group.
The group is currently responsible for delivering the compulsory undergraduate course Introduction to Basic Principles of Marxism. Its predecessor course, Principles of Marxist Philosophy, was recognized as a model course at both the Beijing municipal and national levels in 2004. The accompanying textbook, Introduction to Marxist Philosophy, was also designated as a model textbook in Beijing.
The course is led by Professor Wu Zhuo as the primary responsible person, with Professor Wei Zhengxiang serving as the secondary responsible person. The core teaching team comprises 9 faculty members: 5 Professors (including 4 doctoral supervisors), 1 Associate Professor, and 3 Lecturers. Additionally, there is 1 adjunct Associate Professor and 7 postdoctoral researchers.

Prof. Wu Zhuo: Member of the Ministry of Education's Teaching Guidance Committee for Ideological and Political Theory Courses, concurrently serving as Deputy Director of the Subcommittee for Basic Principles of Marxism.
Prof. Ai Silin: Member of the Ministry of Education's Teaching Guidance Committee for Ideological and Political Theory Courses, concurrently serving as Deputy Director of the Subcommittee for Graduate-level Ideological and Political Theory Courses.
